About John F. Myslinski

A Life of Faith, Service, and Storytelling

John F. Myslinski’s journey has been one of purpose, dedication, and service. As a Catholic priest, he has ministered to communities for decades, offering guidance, leadership, and compassion. His work has extended beyond the church walls, from advocating for the homeless to bringing faith into homes through television and public ministry.

Born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts, John attended Catholic schools before earning his degree from Boston College with honors. He then joined the Jesuits, spending years in religious formation before transitioning into public service as a federal officer with the United States Capitol Police. However, his calling to the priesthood led him to seminary, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Divinity and was ordained for the Archdiocese of Washington in 1980.

Throughout his career, John has served as a priest, pastor, and advocate — leading parishes, mentoring others, and working closely with the homeless community. His impact reached even further through media, where he hosted Real to Reel and celebrated the televised Mass in Washington, D.C., for nearly a decade. Recognized for his service, he was honored as "Washingtonian of the Year" and named a Monsignor by Pope John Paul II in 2005.

Beyond his ministry, John is also a published author of Strange Gods and Something Wicked, using storytelling to explore themes of faith, morality, and justice. Now residing in the Berkshires, he continues his mission through writing, ministry, and mentorship, sharing reflections on faith, leadership, and service.
